Guide for Authors

Instructions to authors

 Types of Paper

Chemistry of Solid Materials (CSM) publishes original papers, review articles and short communications. Only papers not yet published and not submitted for publication elsewhere will be accepted.  Papers have to be submitted only via the University of Guilan Journal Submission site:

Upon acceptance of an article, authors will be asked to complete the University of Guilan: Copyright Agreement Form. The corresponding author receives the form via the submission site.

All the manuscript will follow a peer reviewing process. Also the authors may be required to provide the names and e-mail addresses of up to 3 international reviewers.

Use Microsoft word processing software. It is important that the file be saved in the native format of the word processor used. Prepare the entire manuscript using double spacing and wide (3 cm) margins. Present tables and figure captions on separate pages at the end of the manuscript. Number all pages consecutively.

Manuscripts should be organized in the following order:

1. Title

2. Name(s) of author(s) and affiliation(s)

3. Abstract

4. Keywords (up to 5)

5. Introduction

6. Experimental (Reagents and materials, techniques and characterizations)

7. Results and discussions

8. Conclusions

9. Acknowledgements

10. References

11. Tables

12. Figure captions

13. Figures

Divide your article into defined and numbered sections. Subsections should also be numbered given a brief heading.

Essential points for title page

Concise and informative.

 Author names and affiliations

Indicate the given name(s) and family name(s) of each author. Present the authors' affiliation addresses (where the actual work was done) below the names. Indicate all affiliations with a lower-case superscript letter immediately after the author's name and in front of the appropriate address. Provide the full postal address of each affiliation. Provide the academic rank of all the authors for the abstract part in Persian.

 Corresponding author

Clearly indicate who will handle correspondences at all stages of reviewing and publication. Ensure that the e-mail address is given as a footnote to the corresponding author name.

A concise and factual abstract is required. The abstract should state briefly the purpose of the research, the principal results and major conclusions. The abstract should be no longer than 200 words. The authors whom native language is Persian should provide abstract in Persian too and submit it as a separate file.

 Figures and illustrations

Number the illustrations according to their sequence in the text. Provide captions to illustrations separately. Size the illustrations close to the desired dimensions of the published version. Submit each illustration as a separate file. Use a logical naming convention for your artwork files.

Number tables consecutively in accordance with their appearance in the text. Tables can be placed either next to the relevant text in the article, or on separate page(s) at the end.  Submit tables as editable text and not as images.

Indicate references by number(s) in square brackets in line with the text. All references should be presented in a list of references following the text. References should have the structures as below:

[1] J.B. Raoof, A. Omrani, R. Ojani, F. Monfared, J. Electroanal. Chem. 633, 153 (2009)
